Mission - Boosterthon Fun Run - Fitness, Leadership, & Character Development

If you hang around the Boosterthon Fun Run team long enough, you’ll see or hear us talk about our mission. We say that the Boosterthon exists to [CTW] or “Change the World.” What do we mean by that? Our mission statement explains…

“The mission of the Boosterthon Fun Run is to Change the World by strengthening schools and impacting the next generation through Fitness, Leadership, and Character.”

We know that we have a unique platform in front of many students—500,000 this school year alone. Because of that, we don’t just gauge success by the funds we generate. We take advantage of every opportunity to high-five a student, encourage a teacher, or share a fun character lesson with a class.

Because we have a bit of “downtime” in the summer, we want to make a difference during that time as well. Every summer we have a company-wide service project.

2008 - New Orleans, building rennovation and block parties
2009 - Memphis, neighborhood cleanup and block parties
2010 - Atlanta, Water For Kenya 5k, raising funds for clean water projects in Kenya
2011 - Guatemala, Operation Playground, building playgrounds for three schools in Guatemala
2012 - Southeastern and Midwest U.S., Pass It Forward, donating and delivering basketball sets to children in local hospitals

But on school campuses, we’ve narrowed our focus to three key Impact Points: Fitness, Leadership, and Character.

We enhance a school’s fitness emphasis by hosting the fitness event of the year and reinforce the message that “Fitness is Fun.”
We believe that leadership is very important. We develop fun, age-appropriate curriculum to give students a foundational understanding of what it means to be a leader.
Nothing is more important than helping students embrace strong character. Our creative team works with child experts to create an engaging character theme that is fun and meaningful.
