This is a useful PTO resource to to print out or save in your Google Drive as a quick reference. These tips can be especially handy at the start of the year when you may have someone new taking over your social media!

✅ Top 5 Tips for PTO Social Media Success

  1. Batch & Schedule: Write posts once a month, then schedule them with a free social tool like Meta Business Suite (lets you schedule posts, stories, and even see analytics), Canva‘s “Content Planner” that lets you schedule post directly to social media.
  2. Mix It Up: Aim for 4–6 posts a month → rotate Learning Tips, Student Spotlights, and Teacher Shoutouts, with special announcements and fun monthly holidays.
  3. Use Emojis & Photos: Posts with visuals get more engagement. 📸
  4. Highlight Fundraisers: When planning your social calendar, also think about your fundraising calendar! For example, if you’re planning to host a read-a-thon, you could kick it off on Read-a-Book Day.
  5. Engage, Don’t Just Post: Reply to comments, share community photos, and encourage families to tag your school.

🚀 Pro Tips for Engagement

  • Whenever you can, include a call to action: “Comment below,” “Share a photo,” or “Tag a friend.”
  • Celebrate small wins: not just big fundraisers, but classroom projects, student kindness, teacher creativity.
  • Keep posts short + fun—families are scrolling fast!
