Starting the day STRONG

If you’ve ever asked me what my favorite part of working at Booster is, you’ve probably heard my answer: CARLINE! Let me explain why it’s my favorite!

Every morning before the school bell rings, our team brings the energy to campus.

As students are being dropped off for school, we roll out our speaker system and turn the carpool line into a celebration. For about 30 minutes, we play upbeat music, dance, jump around, give high fives, and greet every student with a smile and a “good morning.” The morning welcome officially begins the moment the first car pulls in or the first student steps out.

To make things even more exciting, we sometimes wear inflatable costumes while interacting with students. It always grabs attention and brings laughter to the carpool line.

What started as a fun way to welcome students has become one of the most meaningful parts of our day.

Why We Love It

One of the best parts of our morning carline routine is seeing students smile before they even walk into the building. Some students dance with us, while others simply wave or laugh as they walk by. Even students who seem tired or quiet often leave the car smiling.

Parents get involved, too. Many can hear the music from their cars and start dancing along with us while waiting in line. Sometimes parents even step out of their vehicles and join the fun.

We occasionally bring out signs that say:

“Honk if you love your school!”

The response is incredible. Horns start honking all throughout the carpool line, and suddenly, everyone feels connected and involved in the moment.

More Than Just Dancing

Morning welcome is more than music and entertainment. It helps create a positive school culture before the first class even begins.

It wakes us up, gets everyone energized for the day, and creates memorable moments students continue talking about later on campus. One of my favorite things is when students mention seeing us outside dancing earlier that morning.

These moments help students feel seen, welcomed, and excited to be at school.

It also creates stronger connections with families. When parents experience joy and positivity during drop-off, they become more engaged with our school community. That engagement can even encourage families to share our fundraiser with others and support our programs through donations on our website.

At the end of the day, something as simple as music, dancing, and a smile can completely change the atmosphere of a school morning.

And honestly, there’s no better way to start the day.
