How to Build & Use a Brand Kit in Canva

For PTO & PTA Leaders

Keeping your PTO designs consistent helps your school look polished, professional, and recognizable across every flyer, post, and event. Canva’s Brand Kit makes that easy! You can store your logos, fonts, and colors in one place — so every volunteer designs with the same look.

Step 1: Open the Brand Kit

1. Log in to canva.com.
   
2. On the left-hand menu, click “Brand” (sometimes called Brand Hub).
   
3. Select “Add New Brand Kit.”
   
   • If your PTO uses Canva for Nonprofits (free Pro), you’ll have access to the full Brand Kit features.

Step 2: Add Your School Logo(s)

1. Click “Upload a logo” and select your PTO or school logo files (PNG format with a transparent background works best).
   
2. Upload multiple versions — for example:
   
   • Full-color logo
     
   • Black-and-white version
     
   • Horizontal/stacked variations
     
3. Canva will automatically store them for quick access when designing.
   

Step 3: Add School or PTO Colors
